1. Document Purpose
This Account Suspension and Fraud Policy establishes the circumstances under which ReadinessOS may restrict, suspend, investigate, or permanently terminate access to the platform in order to protect users, vessel accounts, platform integrity, and operational reliability.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that ReadinessOS remains a trusted professional readiness platform while preventing fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and misuse.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Vessel accounts
- Captains
- Designated vessel operators
- Founding Vessel participants
- Closed Beta participants
- Future crew accounts
- Future professional profiles
- Future Readiness Passport holders
- Any person using ReadinessOS services
3. Definitions
For the purposes of this policy:
Suspension means temporary restriction of account access pending investigation.
Termination means permanent removal of platform access.
Fraud means intentional deception intended to obtain unauthorized access, benefits, recognition, or platform privileges.
Misuse means use of the platform contrary to its intended operational purpose or published policies.
4. Grounds for Suspension
ReadinessOS may suspend an account where there is reasonable suspicion of:
- Identity fraud
- False vessel ownership claims
- Unauthorized vessel administration
- Forged documentation
- Fake professional credentials
- Duplicate account creation
- Account sharing outside authorized users
- Unauthorized seat transfers
- Abuse of AI features
- Platform manipulation
- Security threats
- Malicious uploads
- Automated abuse
- Unauthorized API usage
- Circumvention of subscription limits
- Violation of platform policies
Suspension may occur with or without prior notice where necessary to protect platform security.
5. Fraudulent Activity
Examples of fraudulent conduct include:
- Creating fictitious vessels
- Claiming authority over vessels without authorization
- Uploading forged certificates
- Uploading manipulated documentation
- Misrepresenting competency history
- Creating fake readiness records
- Creating fake drill participation
- Artificially manipulating readiness scores
- Misusing badges or recognition
- Attempting to deceive employers or operators
- Creating multiple accounts to avoid subscription requirements
This list is illustrative and not exhaustive.
6. Platform Misuse
Misuse includes, but is not limited to:
- Attempting to disrupt platform operations
- Reverse engineering platform functionality
- Attempting unauthorized system access
- Automated scraping
- Distribution of malware
- Uploading illegal content
- Spam activity
- Harassment
- Abuse of support systems
- Excessive automated requests
- Unauthorized commercial exploitation
- Circumvention of technical protections
7. Investigation Process
ReadinessOS may investigate suspected violations by reviewing:
- Authentication logs
- Audit records
- Uploaded documents
- Account history
- Device information
- Platform activity
- Verification history
- Communication records
- Security events
- AI interaction logs where applicable
Investigations may involve manual review or automated fraud detection systems.
8. Temporary Suspension
Temporary suspension may include:
- Login restriction
- Administrative review
- Identity verification requests
- Document verification requests
- Feature limitations
- Removal of sharing privileges
- Suspension of AI features
- Suspension of Founding benefits
- Suspension of Beta participation
Temporary suspension does not imply wrongdoing.
9. Permanent Termination
ReadinessOS may permanently terminate accounts where serious violations are confirmed, including:
- Identity fraud
- Repeated policy violations
- Criminal misuse
- Deliberate platform abuse
- Forged documentation
- Persistent account sharing
- Malicious activity
- Security threats
- Significant reputational harm to the platform
Termination decisions may be final.
10. Badge and Passport Revocation
ReadinessOS may revoke:
- Platform badges
- Recognition labels
- Readiness achievements
- Professional profile verification
- Future Readiness Passport verification
- Competency recognition displayed within the platform
Revocation does not constitute a legal determination regarding professional qualifications outside ReadinessOS.
11. Subscription Effects
Account suspension or termination does not automatically entitle users to refunds unless required by applicable law or specific subscription terms.
Founding benefits, Beta access, or promotional pricing may be revoked following serious policy violations.
12. Reporting Suspected Fraud
Users may report suspected fraud involving:
- Vessel impersonation
- Fake profiles
- Forged documentation
- Unauthorized access
- Misuse of professional records
- Badge misuse
- Readiness manipulation
- AI abuse
- Subscription abuse
Reports should include supporting evidence whenever possible.
13. Appeals
Users subject to suspension or termination may request administrative review under the Appeals and Corrections Policy.
Submission of an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement.
ReadinessOS may request additional documentation before reconsidering an enforcement decision.
14. Security Cooperation
ReadinessOS may cooperate with:
- Vessel owners
- Management companies
- Legal authorities
- Regulatory agencies
- Hosting providers
- Payment processors
- Security researchers
- Service providers
where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, or unlawful activity and where permitted by applicable law.
15. AI Abuse
Future AI functionality may not be used to:
- Generate fraudulent records
- Produce misleading operational reports
- Falsify competency history
- Fabricate readiness evidence
- Misrepresent vessel operations
- Circumvent platform safeguards
Misuse of AI services may result in immediate suspension.
16. Limitation of Liability
ReadinessOS reserves the right to suspend or terminate access whenever reasonably necessary to protect platform integrity.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ReadinessOS shall not be liable for losses resulting from enforcement actions taken in good faith under this policy.
17. Relationship to Other Policies
This policy should be interpreted together with:
- Terms of Service
- Privacy Policy
- Identity Verification Policy
- Data Ownership Policy
- Appeals and Corrections Policy
- Founding Vessel Program Terms
- Closed Beta Participation Agreement
Where conflicts exist regarding personal information processing, the Privacy Policy shall govern.
18. Policy Updates
ReadinessOS may revise this policy as platform functionality, fraud prevention methods, AI capabilities, or legal requirements evolve.
Updated versions become effective upon publication unless otherwise specified.
