1. Document Purpose

This Readiness Passport Policy establishes the principles governing the creation, management, portability, visibility, and use of the ReadinessOS Readiness Passport.

The Readiness Passport is designed to provide a portable professional summary documenting an individual's operational readiness participation throughout their maritime career.

The Readiness Passport documents engagement and participation. It does not certify competency, qualifications, or employability.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Professional user profiles
  • Future Readiness Passport records
  • Career timeline information
  • Readiness participation history
  • Badge history
  • Scenario exposure history
  • Vessel membership history
  • Identity verification status
  • Future Passport sharing functionality
  • Future API verification services

3. Definitions

For the purposes of this policy:

Readiness Passport means a portable digital summary generated by ReadinessOS that documents professional readiness participation.

Passport Holder means the individual user associated with the Readiness Passport.

Passport Summary means the information selected for display within the Readiness Passport.

Passport Sharing means any voluntary disclosure of Passport information through platform sharing features.

4. Purpose of the Readiness Passport

The Readiness Passport exists to document long-term operational readiness participation throughout a professional career.

Its objective is to answer:

> "How actively has this individual participated in operational readiness activities over time?"

The Passport is not intended to answer:

  • Is this person competent?
  • Is this person qualified?
  • Should this person be hired?
  • Does this person satisfy regulatory requirements?

Those determinations remain the responsibility of employers, operators, regulators, and training organizations.

5. Passport Ownership

The Readiness Passport belongs to the individual user associated with the professional profile.

Changing vessels, employers, email addresses, or geographic location does not create a new Passport.

The Passport remains permanently associated with the user's ReadinessOS Identity.

6. ReadinessOS Identity

Every professional profile may receive a permanent ReadinessOS Identity.

Example:

ROS-000128

The ReadinessOS Identity remains unchanged throughout the user's participation in the platform and serves as the permanent reference for the Readiness Passport.

7. Passport Content

The Readiness Passport may include:

  • ReadinessOS Identity
  • Identity verification status
  • Member since date
  • Years active
  • Professional summary
  • Current rank
  • Nationality (if enabled)
  • Vessel history
  • Career timeline summary
  • Drill participation
  • Scenario reviews
  • Scenario discussions
  • Observations submitted
  • Corrective actions completed
  • Readiness engagement category
  • Badge history
  • Scenario exposure summary

Displayed information may evolve as platform functionality expands.

8. Verification Status

The Passport may display identity verification status including:

  • Identity Pending
  • Verified Professional
  • Verification Rejected

Identity verification confirms profile authenticity only.

It does not validate qualifications, licenses, competency, employment history, or regulatory compliance.

9. Badge Display

The Passport may display earned ReadinessOS badges including:

  • Verified Professional
  • Founding Member
  • Longevity Badges
  • Scenario Explorer
  • Drill Veteran
  • Observer
  • Action Closer
  • Other future participation badges

Badges reflect documented platform participation only.

Badges are not certifications.

10. Readiness Engagement

The Passport may summarize readiness engagement through platform-generated metrics based upon documented activity.

Engagement summaries are intended to encourage participation and continuous improvement.

Readiness engagement metrics are informational only and should never be interpreted as competency assessments or professional evaluations.

11. Portability

The Readiness Passport is intended to follow the individual throughout their professional career.

Changing:

  • Vessel
  • Employer
  • Position
  • Country
  • Fleet
  • Management company

does not erase historical participation records.

Historical continuity remains one of the core principles of the Readiness Passport.

12. Visibility Controls

Users control Passport visibility through available privacy settings.

Visibility options may include:

  • Private
  • Current Vessel Only
  • Shared Link
  • Public Profile

No Passport information should be publicly accessible without user authorization.

13. QR Codes and Sharing

Future versions of ReadinessOS may generate:

  • QR codes
  • Secure sharing links
  • Downloadable Passport summaries
  • Digital Passport pages
  • API verification endpoints

Users control whether these sharing mechanisms are enabled.

Public sharing remains optional.

14. API Verification

Future versions of ReadinessOS may provide secure API verification services allowing authorized organizations to verify selected Passport information.

API access shall remain subject to:

  • User authorization where required
  • Platform security controls
  • Privacy requirements
  • Commercial agreements
  • Technical limitations

API verification does not constitute regulatory certification.

15. Corrections

Users may request correction of factual inaccuracies contained within the Readiness Passport.

Examples include:

  • Incorrect vessel history
  • Incorrect participation counts
  • Incorrect badges
  • Incorrect timeline events
  • Administrative errors

Supporting evidence may be required.

Historical audit records may be preserved where appropriate.

16. AI-Assisted Passport Features

Future versions of ReadinessOS may use artificial intelligence to generate:

  • Professional summaries
  • Readiness highlights
  • Participation insights
  • Career trend summaries
  • Scenario exposure summaries
  • Badge recommendations

AI-generated content is informational only and does not constitute certification, professional endorsement, or employment recommendation.

17. Relationship to Other Policies

This policy should be interpreted together with:

  • Terms of Service
  • Professional Profile Policy
  • Career Timeline Policy
  • Badge and Recognition Policy
  • Profile Visibility and Sharing Policy
  • Data Ownership Policy
  • Privacy Policy

Where conflicts exist regarding personal information processing, the Privacy Policy shall govern.

18. Policy Updates

ReadinessOS may revise this policy as Passport functionality, AI capabilities, professional identity features, or legal requirements evolve.

Updated versions become effective upon publication unless otherwise specified.
